FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What if I am a YMCA member? Isn't this already part of my membership?
Yes - thank you for supporting the Y and the Y, in turn, is supporting CFP Zumba as of June 2020. Hooray!
How much should I contribute?
You do not have to contribute a thing. Please do not feel obligated. We created this page because several of you want to be part of the "solution" (and financial support is a great way to do that unless you want to come be a Zumba instructor for a day and dance for 100+ people that you can't see! It's kinda scary but we're also kinda loving it).
What about Yoga? You Zumba people are crazy. Why am I taking Yoga on a Zumba website?
The best way to support Rev Shelley's work is visit the Sacred Center website to make your donation (www.sacred-center.org). Rev Shelley is part of our CFP Zumba family and we have invited her to share our space and our equipment to serve her yoga community - there is a lot of overlap. Again, our missions are aligned and when you combine the power of these communities, blessings abound for everyone(did you know she is also a Zumba instructor too?)!
What is CFP Fitness - I see that when I go to your PayPal link?
That is the name of the LLC we have established. Yes, it is CFP Zumba and yes, it is managed by Conley (email her at cfpzumba@gmail.com with any questions).
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
No, it is not. We are not a 501-c3 organization. Your contribution will be "income" to CFP Fitness and we will pay taxes on it after we deduct our expenses.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, we would encourage you to make it to Common Fence Point. The community association's primary source of income is donations and hall rentals. Obviously, hall rentals have come to a screaming halt. That is hard to bear as we just put $1M into rebuilding our beautiful new home! Please think about helping CFP "keep the lights on" with a contribution that feels meaningful to you (go to www.commonfencepoint.org)
Why do I have to pay the 2.9% fee for a PayPal transfer? Can't I just transfer funds as a "friend/family" and avoid this fee?
Yes, we are friends, but CFP Zumba is a business so we have to use the PayPal business platform. We have to register your contribution as "income" or we could be in super big trouble with the IRS. I know several Zumba instructors are using the friends/family version of PayPal but we are choosing to do this "by the book" - that's how we roll! If you want to avoid the PayPal fee, please just send Conley a check made to CFP Fitness. It will be still counted as income but no digital transfer fees! Email her and she will send you her address (cfpzumba@gmail.com).
